When is Raja 2022?
Raja 2022 in India will begin on
Wednesday, 15 June
and ends on
Saturday, 18 June
It is that season again when Odia families clamour with arrangements of a celebration called 'Raja' that celebrates womanhood. This event symbolises the earth's fertility regeneration time, which corresponds to the monthly cycle that women go through.
Odisha's three-day celebration, 'Raja Parba,' begins on June 14 (Tuesday). According to the Odisha Tourism website, the first day of this three-day festival is called Pahili Raja, and it is also considered the last day of Jestha (summer).
Raja Sankranti is celebrated on the second day of the month Asadha (monsoon).
The final day is known as Bhuin Dahana, also known as Sesa Raja in the local dialect (last day).
