Odisha government signs MoU to host Commonwealth TT

The Odisha government has decided to organize a table tennis competition-2019 in Commonwealth countries. The State Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Table Tennis Federation of India in Cuttack. After signing this draft, Odisha has got the opportunity to organize the 21st Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship. The previous two Commonwealth Championships, 2013 and 2015, have also been held in India.
The competition is scheduled to start on 17th July 2019. This framework has already been created but the decision to implement was done on Monday. The signing of the mutual agreement on the Commonwealth Table Tennis Competition was signed by Odisha government secretary Vishal Dev and Vice-President of Table Tennis Federation of India S.N. Sultan and Chairman of Odisha Table Tennis Association LN Gupta. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and sports minister Tusharakanti Behera were also present on this occasion. Chief Minister Patnaik congratulated in advance for the successful organizing of this competition.

He said, “I congratulate Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) and the Odisha State TT Association for partnering with our government in hosting this prestigious event.”
For the promotion of sports, Odisha has always been ahead. Table tennis competition is also part of this. It will end on July 22. A total of 14 countries will participate in this competition. Along with other countries, it will also include Malaysia, Sri Lanka, England, Scotland, Belgium, Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and Nigeria.
