Low pressure over the Bay of Bengal to trigger rains in Odisha
Low pressure is expected in the Bay of Bengal and heavy rains are expected in the state
Bhubaneswar: The low-pressure area in the central Bay of Bengal has been activated. As a result, it will continue to rain in most parts of the state. It is expected to intensify in the west-central Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours. Concentrated on the coast of Andhra Pradesh, it will become a wall mark. It will move north and northeast over the next 24 hours. The Orissa-West Bengal coast is expected to receive heavy rainfall, according to the meteorological department.
The Center has issued warnings to various districts in the state till the 23rd of this month. According to agronomists, there is a lack of rainfall in the state due to the low-pressure area and the chances of flooding are low.
However, the state has received 2 per cent less monsoon rains so far. The normal rainfall was recorded in 28 districts, with two districts receiving heavy rainfall and seven districts receiving low rainfall in Khordha, Gajapati Puri and Balasore. The recent low-pressure area is likely to cause Niantia rainfall.
