Odisha is trying out using drones to deliver medicine in Rayagada. Redwing's special drones will bring medicine and medical tools to the tribal areas in Rayagada where it's hard to get healthcare.
Drones are going to fly to faraway tribal areas to deliver medicines. This healthcare drone delivery system started in Rayagada. Redwing's special drones will take medicine and medical tools to the tribal areas in Rayagada where it's hard to get healthcare.
Rayagada is the second place in Odisha where they're trying this scheme after Kandhamal. USAID and Redwing are overseeing this service. At first, medicines were taken to Kalyansinghpur and Gudari Hospitals by drones. Since it worked well, they'll deliver medicines to more hospitals in far-off places in the district. A trained person at the District Headquarters Hospital will control the drones, bringing different important medicines to patients in various hospitals.
Delivering medicines to faraway tribal areas in Rayagada using drones has started. Minister Jagannath Saraka hopes this experimental service will continue and become a regular way to help patients in various district hospitals. Drones are already delivering medicines in districts like Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya in India."
